Each module includes exercises, role plays, reviews and Q&A sections as well as homework assignments. Vocabulary drills will be practiced before the class using the books and CDs as directed by the instructor. MODULE III – Level Intermediate - Taught using as much Spanish as possible Meeting 1 – Adjectives, “Hay”, Future tense, “Ser” vs. “Estar” Meeting 2 - The Family, Present Perfect Tense, Medical History – Illnesses Meeting 3 - Types of food & Diet, Indirect object pronouns, Irregular verbs in the Present tense Meeting 4 - Days of week & months of the year, Authority figures and home remedies
MODULE IV – Intermediate/Advanced - Taught mainly in Spanish Meeting 1 - The Command form, Key Power verbs, Prescription & diet instructions Meeting 2 - Beware of direct translations, Giving directions, Present Progressive tense & irregulars Meeting 3 - Possessive adjectives, “Se” impersonal, Demonstrative adjectives, Preterit tense and Irregulars Meeting 4 - Reflexive verbs, Direct object pronouns, Past perfect tense, Past Progressive tense
MODULE V – Advanced - Taught exclusively in Spanish Meeting 1 - Conditional tense & irregulars, Imperfect tense & irregulars Meeting 2 - Direct and indirect object pronouns used together, Command form (tú form) Meeting 3 -The subjunctive mood: Present subjunctive, “Ojalá”, “Es Necesario”, “Hay que” & “Tener Que” Meeting 4 - Imperfect Subjunctive and Irregulars, Conditional & Subjunctive used together, “Preguntar” v. “Pedir”, “Conocer” vs. “Saber” Meeting 5 - Present Perfect Subjunctive, Pluperfect Subjunctive, Conditional & Pluperfect subjunctive used together
